Where Have They All Gone

I must've missed something. Summer came and went. And no matter how volatile the media industry is in whole they always pump out summertime blockbusters. Or at least they try too. Even if they think they have a hit on their hands they advertise the hell out of it.

So, why does it seem like the movie industry was in a coma this past summer? I tried to remember one JUST ONE blockbuster or something that was well promoted. On the streets on New York City it seems like the TV shows were better promoted than the movies. You know how many Jusge Judy posters I saw; and still see.

Okay, that wasn't fair she was beating Oprah in the ratings and has a very recognizable persona. And I am known for being a TV guy more than a movie guy. AND I am very critical of movies generally speaking.

I just did a google search for summertime movies of 2011. No wonder movies don't make the money the use to. Instead of telling us about the movies so I can go rent them or how great they are; thety just advertise the ones coming up in October. BLAH TO YOU!

When I scrolled and clicked back I got:
-X-Men
-A Love Affair of Sorts
-Daylight
-Columbiana
-Rise of Planet of The Apes

These are the ones I yanked out of that massive list because I VAGELY remember them being advertised. In fact, I don't even know what they are, except that they were advertised. That's one of the problems right there. The only one I would go and rent is Rise of Planet of the Apes. And that's only because I saw the first one which had a cliff-hanger ending......SEVERAL YEARS AGO! What is this; a Back To The Future Part II homeage? (I hope you got that).

I hope Christmas Time or the Summer of 2012 brings better entires to the big screen, or we may see less and less of them around. Lord know this isn't the time to put people out of work.
