IT'S ALIVE, IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!

Lets have our first blog about the media, be on the medium of blogs - "Hey I think it's appropriate."

Well, here it is the start of my official blogging. And how appropriate to do it about blogs? I think it's a medium like TV or Radio. Medium is the singular form of media. That's what I learned when I got my BA at Marymount Manhattan College. My major was Communications.

Have you ever wondered what makes a good blogger? It's not necessarily the blog itself. And no I'm not an idiot I know the blogger is directly tied in with the blog. But there are just some awful bloggers out there.

There's the Ghost Blogger that blogs once or twice a month. Then they forget about it all together and their account gets deleted and lost in cyber-world forever.

Then there is always that person that just doesn't get it. And you know who I am talking about. They are the people that can't shut up at parties and you want them to shut it. One day they are blogging about their first date. The next day they are blogging about frying an ant on the sidewalk when it was 102 degrees outside. Unless their date consisted of frying an ant on the sidewalk they probably are that way blogging too. Meaning - They're all over the place. But seriously; if that's what someone does on a date they probably need mental help and should think about never having kids....ever!

Then we have our B-O-R-I-N-G bloggers. These are wimps that are too scared to make any mad; they choose to have no opinion or social content of any importance to anyone. These people are opinionless (which apparently is not a word according to my spell checker).

I can give a darn great example of a great blog and blogger. Julie Powell is her name. She was the woman who blogged about cooking the meals of Chef Julia Child. I believe a movie was made about it. She knew her demographics, stuck to her topic and didn't care if Julia Child's herself hated the blog (which Child's did). Okay maybe she cared a little bit. But it was her passion and it showed. Not to mention it had a huge following.

Here are some other examples of great bloggers or blogs.
-Michelle Malkin
-Rosie O'Donnell
-Hot Air
-The Huffington Post
-GloZell Green

I don't care if you can't stand some of the people I just mentioned. They post consistently, have an opinion, and know their audience. Most people cannot pull off being funny. GloZell can. And yours truly was even partially featured on her blog. But she's marketable, funny, and has a big following. Plus she does video blogging. That may happen if I get enough nerve to put this mug on the screen. Then again there is always blogtalkradio. I'll work my way there yet.

And then of course, there is the person that just can't blog. They type four sentences and they are done. Or they type 40 paragraphs. You gotta leave your audience wanting more. And not go on and on. Most topics no matter how great have a beginning, middle and end. That is taught in 3rd grade. It's called blogging etiquette. That's why I feel this blog has gone on long enough now and needs to end here.
