Did you happen to catch "Two and A Half Men" last night?

I started out the title of my blog with, "Did you happen to catch, 'Two and A Half Men' last night?" because that is the question people (I was told) use to ask back in the 80's and 90's. You would come home from work, read the paper, have dinner, and sit down to watch TV. That was the olden days. Because the next morning you would go to work, and to make small office talk around the water cooler you would say, "Did you happen to catch "(insert TV show here)" and that's how life was suppose to be like.

I have a feeling even feeling even with the age of youtube, and DVR's (gees even VCR's are obsolete) and other more modern wonders people still tuned in. There are two reasons for this. Charlie Sheen and almost everyone else sucks.

Charlie Sheen is a media magnet for now. Two bad he created his own downfall ONLY for his roost on Comedy Central which decided to compete. But lucky for Jon Cryer, CBS is network and they won't rerun it a zillion times and I'm sure the show still has a huge budget. Charlie created that "media firestorm (yawn)" when he decided to go after his boss Chuck Lorre. And then have his own little traveling show. Sort of like what Conan O'Brien did. in fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see Charlie on a future episode. Wouldn't it be funny if this was all for ratings?

The second reason is everyone else in prime time pretty much sucks. Name a funny laugh out loud comedy like "Two And a Half Men". You probably can't find a show as funny because it really doesn't exist right now. Now, Two is not the funniest show ever. But I'll bet anything it's right up there for now. You certainly can't make the argument that "How I Met Your Mother" is funnier. Because both shows can hold their own, but given the choice which one would you watch?

I'm sure we'll see Charlie back on with another show just as risque as his old show. And Ashton Kutcher (who took Charlie's place) is gonna keep that show going. So, for right now we're stuck with both.

But a big congrats should go out to not only the entire show "Two And a Half Men" but Jon Cryer as well. People will certainly be talking about this show at work today. This show has just landed another good season after this season too when the shows was nearly canned almost a year ago because of Charlie.

But Jon Cryer who is the lessor know guy in all of this just got his star on the Hollywood walk of fame. I'm not saying he's a nobody or not talented. That is the furthest thing from the truth. But he seems to be a rising star (even though he already is a Hollywood star - seriously) will everyone else with the show seems to either fall or ride of this whole Charlie Sheen media publicity; which is the real reason why most everybody tuned in last night.

No if anyone in Hollywood Land would just give Conchata Ferrell (the woman who plays Berta) a bigger role (no pun intended) and more work out there, I think Hollywood would be on the road to success. But this is the land of make believe where almost everybody is beautiful and nobody looks over the age of 30.

The only question which goes unanswered is, how will the rest of the competition respond to see who will win?
